We’ve all heard this phrase, “Freedom Isn’t Free”, growing
up. Most of the time we associate this
phrase with the lives that men and women have sacrificed for freedom throughout
our nation’s history—from the Patriots of the Revolutionary War to the Snipers
of Operation Enduring Freedom.
When the founders of our nation declared independence from England,
they pledged their lives, treasure, and sacred honor. I’m asking that you do the same for our
country today.
In my congressional district, we have a run off next Tuesday
between former Governor Mark Sanford and my good friend Curtis Bostic. As you may remember, Mark Sanford went
missing for six days while he was Governor. Nobody knew where he was. He finally showed up in the Columbia airport
returning from Argentina to see his
mistress—a trip funded by tax payer dollars. Someone who has shattered our
trust in this manner does not deserve a second chance to be our representative.
Yet, Mark is leading in money and in some polls.
In contrast, Curtis is a true patriot who loves his God, his
wife and family, his country, his state, and his constitution. We need good men like Curtis in office and
cannot afford to have Mark win this nomination.
A recent poll indicates that if Mark is nominated he will lose the
election (and rightly so). We cannot
allow Obama’s influence to spread to the 1st District—a bastion of
conservatism.
But, freedom is never free.
Sometimes it costs lives.
Sometimes it costs treasure.
Sometimes it costs sacred honor.
Whether you are in Florida or in California, will you join
me and thousands of others in the Low Country of South Carolina as we give our
time, money, and names to Curtis?
Curtis’s campaign needs funds to compete with Mark. Can you give $20 for freedom? If you can and
want to give more that is great, but I’m simply asking that many people give a
little. That type of giving can quickly
add up. Will you also forward and re-Tweet this blog
to others you know who love God and Country?
To find out more about Curtis and to donate, see his website
at http://www.stopspending.com.
Thank you,
Michael
